Deborah Boschert is an artist, author and teacher. She creates art quilt collages with layers of fabric, paint and stitching.  With her guidance we will make several Embroidered Art Quilt Collages while at Chateau Dumas. With Deborah, we will create several small art quilt collages, inspired by our surroundings at Chateau Dumas, combining printmaking on cloth, raw edge fused applique and hand embroidery.

Then on to Paris to immerse ourselves in the exquisite and historic textiles of the past and present, shop famous haberdasheries and the flea markets, tour the Musée Jouy de Toile in the city of Versailles and enjoy a delightful dinner cruise on the River Seine.

We will have the goldwork workshop, Filigree Butterfly, with Lucy Martin, head of education, from Hand & Lock. Lucy is an extraordinary embroider and we are very fortunate to have her come from London for this workshop. Plus, it will be held at Au Ver A Soie, the makers of exquisite silk threads. Lucy has collaborated with them to add their thread to the design - just for us!
