In Honolulu we will spend a morning on a "shop hop" visiting four local fabric shops.

I was told about these shops by local quilters, so these are the good ones!

June Fabric Warehouse

Huge selection of Asian fabrics. Many are designed in-house and they print themselves.

This means one-of-a-kind!

Hawaiian Fabric
This cozy little shop offers only Hawaiian and tropical fabric.
This includes traditional patterns & designs, all high quality.

 The Calico Cat
This shop was packed to the brim with designer fabrics. Many of them are from Japan.

Kaimuki Dry Goods
Their shelves are stocked with hundreds of fabric styles, elegant patterns and many notions. A typical fabric store, just Hawaiian-style.

On the Big Island we will visit two fabric shops.

Quilt Passions in Kona

A quintessential quilt store, heavily influenced by Hawaii. Yarn too.

H. Kimura Store in Kealakekua
H. Kimura is a family owned business that opened in 1926. It was referred to as the "Japanese fabric shop" numerous times while I was on the island.
I found actual indigo dyed fabric here from Japan.
This store is on the 12-day itinerary only.
