Ta-Da!
The “Second Fiber Arts Biennale: Wisconsin State of the Art” opened with a celebration in mid-July at the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts and Fiber Arts (WMQFA). It was a wonderful experience to see the full Peacock Quilt displayed in all of its glory and to intermingle with the other artists and “ooh and ah” over everyone’s fiber art.
I started making this quilt in 2011 and finished in spring of 2015. It is a wedding present for my middle son Adam and his bride Beth. They got married in 2012. Yup, 2012 and I just finished the quilt in 2015. It hasn’t made it to their home yet. Once I finished the quilt it went to straight to WMQFA for this exhibit.
But, the making and displaying of their wedding/peacock quilt will make a great story for their grandchildren someday!
